Experience
Feminist Writers Festival
I've been a member of the Feminist Writers Festival since 2019. The FWF is dedicated to support and promote feminist writers in Australia by hosting a biennial feminist writers festival and a range of one-off events throughout. I'm proud to be a member of the board, and assist in steering such a significant event for writers and feminists.
SEED Workshops
Since 2017, I've been working with SEED Workshops to help promote self-esteem in secondary school students across Australia. Through SEED, I've been able to present interactive, engaging and empowering workshops for teenagers across all age-groups. These sessions cover everything from Respectful Relationships, de-stressing, how to fight fair, and navigating online and offline media environments.
SlutWalk Melbourne
From 2014-2016, I was involved in feminist activism and organisation at SlutWalk Melbourne. My involvement with SlutWalk focused on the organisation and promotion of the event through social media, and, as of 2015, I assisted in leading the organising team. This involved organising and overseeing annual fundraising events, organising speakers for the march, and liaising with participants and organisations linked to SlutWalk to talk about victim blaming and slut shaming.
Cherchez La Femme
From 2015 to late 2016, I produced of the monthly “feminism in a pub”- style panel shows Cherchez La Femme. Every month, Cherchez La Femme assembles a diverse panel of people to discuss issues related to women, and approach these topics from an unapologetically feminist angle.
As the producer, I was responsible for ensuring that each CLF shows runs smoothly – both on the night, and in the lead up to the show. I've coordinated interstate shows and regional tours, and have worked with venue staff and to ensure CLF puts on a great show no matter where we land.
Everything else
I have also contributed to a number of other feminist causes, rallies, and forms of research. These include work with We Keep Vigil, #ourparks, Reclaim The Night Melbourne, Girls On Film Festival, Counterpoint Advisory, Rights to Privacy Albury, Her Words, and more.
